Early June on the central plains brings two companion species out to blossom. Large numbers of insects are drawn to the milkweed and plants in the area which are insect pollinated receive plenty of visitors.

The purple flowered Psoralidium tenuiflorum (scurf pea) has delicate looking pale blue green leaves and stems. It often looks like a spray of light foliage next to it's broad leaved neighbor.
